Route Overview
The Shira Route is one of Kilimanjaro’s most scenic and less crowded routes, offering dramatic landscapes and wide-open views from the western side of the mountain. Beginning at a higher elevation, the route crosses the beautiful Shira Plateau before joining the Machame Route toward the summit.
This route is ideal for experienced trekkers seeking stunning scenery, adventure, and a unique approach to Uhuru Peak (5,895m).
